Staying Organized

Hello New Day.
Hello New Week.
Hello New Adventure.

HelloMonday

How do you stay organized? Please tell me your secrets! I feel like even though I buy the ‘right stuff’, I’m still running around in chaos. This year I for sure want to get more organized. I don’t want to feel so overwhelmed every single day and so out of control.

I have a few notebooks and agendas that help. This year I also started a bullet journal. I have zero clue what I’m doing. My bullet journal is not organized at all, the pages are no where near ‘pinterest worthy’, but I am totally loving it. Its fun, relaxing, and gives me a false sense of hope that I’m in control of things.

Here are my notebooks that I used to help keep me organized and grounded. I also have a giant wall calendar in the kitchen.

From the bottom, 1. My Binder. Its for work, blog stuff, blog ideas, blog calendar and such. 2. My Agenda. Pretty self explanatory. 3. My bullet journal. Basically full of lists and calendars to track stuff. Its pretty fun, still getting the hang of it though. 4. I call it my “self care notebook”. Basically quotes that make me happy, calm me down when anxiety is high, doodles and such. 5. My Journalling Bible. Again, pretty self explanatory and again the pages are for sure not pinterest worthy. 6. My prayer journal. 7. Daily devotionals.

Its a lot. I know. I probably could condense it a bit, but I like it all separate. And honestly I wouldn’t know where to begin to even condense it. So for now this works for me, so I will keep doing it.

So how do you stay organized? How do you stay grounded in the craziness of every day life?

Starting Your Morning Off Right And Organized

Last week I showed you pictures of what my desk and floor looks like.  Now I am showing you what my mornings look like. Every morning I have multiple things I need to check, and lists I need to write out, and calendars to check.
This is what happens when you have a husband, three kids, a blog, a Handmade Business and a Handmade Sea Glass Necklace business.

This is how I start my day, every day.
My binder, it contains order forms, blog calendar, and other house hold related paper work for me. The pink notebook is where I write blog posts when not near my computer. Next up is my day timer and family calendar, then a note book for work ideas and thoughts. Next is my “Self Care notebook”, basically motivational quotes I found, little pick me up messages, doodles, and such. The green notebook is my prayer notebook. I Like notebooks incase you haven’t noticed. I may have a slight addiction. I love putting pen to paper. Next is my Journaling Bible, pretty self explanatory. Last is my little devotional book.
After I go through all of these, I write out a To Do List for the day.

Not in the picture: coffee. Lots and lots of coffee!

How do you start your day off right and organized?

Back At It

Hello New Day.
Hello New Week.
Hello New Adventure.

HelloMonday

After taking off some time to fully enjoy summer vacation with my kids, and also to give my husband time to fix my computer, I am finally back at it. You don’t realize how much you use and would miss your computer until you can’t use it. I’m not usually one to become attached to an object, but when its my computer and holds my photos, internet and my work – my outlet, I miss that.

So here we are. Two weeks into summer vacation and I am happy to say my children haven’t driven me completely crazy yet. We have been having a fun, low-key, relaxing time. I want to keep this theme of relaxation going all through summer vacation.

So here are my goals for this week.

Family

1. Get the boys on some sort of chores schedule. As much as I am for letting kids be kids and enjoy summer vacation, I am also for kids learning responsibility, and helping out around the house.
2. Read together every day. We have all been so worn out by the end of the day lately that we have been skipping family reading time.
3. Meal plan and have everyone help out with cooking.

Home

4. Keep the house clean and tidy. Get back into the habit of setting the timer in the evening and having everyone tidy up.
5. Finish cleaning and organizing and going through the giant pile of work and art work they brought home from school.

Personal

6. Workout. I have been SO bad on this lately. I’ve been going for walks, but that is about it. And I have put it off so long that it is affecting my mood, and that is just not good. I don’t like feeling this way.
7. Write. Not just for my blog, but for myself. Whether it is in my journal, or just writing for the sake of writing.
8. Relax. So much easier said than done. With the boys home all day and baby girl still never sleeping, I have not been alone since the boys started summer break. I have been having a hard time unwinding. Even though we are having a relaxing summer vacation, I still crave that time on my own to unwind and be on my own, even for just a few minutes.

Work

9. Write. Plan. Create.
10. Take chances. Leave my fear behind me and dive in.

Do you have any plans for this week? Or are you just soaking in all the summer vacation you can?

On a side note, remember a few weeks ago one of my goals was to stop biting my nails? I finally did that. Now if I could stop breaking them! Score 1 for me!

Lets Get Organized!

Hello New Day.
Hello New Week.
Hello New Adventure.

HelloMonday

Oh Monday. We meet again. This week I have decided to dedicate to getting back on track and organized. I feel that after a week of sickness in the house that everything has completely fallen off track.

It has been a while since I have done my 10 Weekly Goals, but its time for that again.
So here we go.

Home Goals

1. Clean. Organize. Total Spring Cleaning. Clean windows, put away winter stuff again!
2. Set a timer before kids bedtime, 15 minutes, and have everyone help clean and tidy up.
3. Meal plan! Stick to that meal plan!

Family Goals

4. Keep our Sunflowers alive!
(This picture was taken exactly one week after we planted them! You can read more about this in my post here)

sunflowers

5. Read every day. Sounds simple enough right? But things like school, homework, after school activities add up.
6. Start planning our summer to-do lists and trips!

Personal Goals

7. Workout at least 4 times a week. I have really been slacking on this one lately. Its been really bad.
8. Relax. Again, this sounds easy enough, right? Well it’s not. I miss reading for myself. I miss being able to sit down for 15-30 minutes and not feel bad about it.

Work Goals

9. Get back on track! Plan, write, schedule, organize my thoughts and plans!
10. KEEP MY DESK CLEAN! Oh my goodness. I still swear there is a force field there.

So this is what I hope to accomplish this week. And I will, I totally will! I have to!

How often do you set goals for yourself? How do you make sure you stick to them?
